I've eaten pizza in New York- this does not compare. Delivery time in excess of one hour and I live within one mile of the joint. 16" pizza, cut into 6 pieces (had expected 8), each slice contained 1 piece of pepperoni, skimpy amount of other toppings, exhorbitant cost. NOT WORTH IT!
Cons: Expensive, skimpy toppings, long delivery time.

i've only gone here once but i probably won't be back. the pizza needs to be cooked a minute or 2 longer for the bottom of the crust to almost be burned but not quite. it was like they didn't have the oven up to temp because it was a quiet night. the crust approached soggy and the whole thing was too greasy. a higher quality pepperoni and cheese would go a long way to diminish the grease factor. the service was dismal. i'm used to rude with personality but this was lacksadaisical and bland. if you can't pull the real thing off, don't tout it as such. it's over priced for the product and [lack of] service. you're trying to be too cool and it doesn't work.
Cons: too much hype

Este offers the best Pizza in SLC in my opinion, from some of the best Vegan food I have tried (after being Vegan for seven years) to the best east coast style pizza I have had since Little Steve’s in Boston. Other than being sickly fanatically and disturbingly obsessed about the Yankee’s it is a great establishment. As for the review noting vandalism… I honestly would have to say, something along those lines truly is NOT vandalism. Your vehicle wasn’t damaged? The window was in tact after all correct? Myself being a Sox fan, I wouldn’t be happy about the “incident” (if you can call it that) but I would truly have to tip my Red Sox cap to whoever may have had the gutts to take an in-expensive decal off of my vehicle whether they were a Yankees fan or an Rockies fan. And you claim it was the owner… if you did not actually see the owner take your sticker off your car, then you do not have the right to say it was him just based off of the fact that he un-fortunately is a Yankees fan. I know the owner of Este and he is a great guy and supports local business’s to the nines! I do not see this in his characteristics or personality at all. With said Go Sox!! And please go to Este, snag a slice with a pint and bring your Red Sox attire!!!

I grew up in NYC and for NY style pizza, Este is so-so. I used to eat there b/c it's near my gym, but never again. The owner vandalized my truck because I am a Sox fan (you're thinking: whoa, NYer and a Sox fan? Crazy, I know). Until then, I had been a normal customer who helped the staff clean up by bringing in all of my plates and cups from the outside. While eating on the patio, I noticed the owner pull up in his bike and stare at my truck (it had a Sox sticker on the rear window). I didn't think much of it until I started to leave, when I noticed the sticker was missing. There was a thick layer of dust surrounding the perimeter of the sticker (it had been a few weeks since my last car wash), but the area of the sticker was pristine. I saw it there on the way to eat at Este, but it had been removed during the meal. No one else had come in or left from that side of the building besides the owner. When asked about it, he wouldn't even look us in the face or talk to us. He went to the kitchen and wouldn't come out. I know it's just a sticker, but c'mon! That's childish, down right mean, and completely uncalled for.
Pros: If not for the owner, the place would be so-so.
Cons: The owner is an awful human being.

Hands down, the best pizza in salt lake city. Settebello comes in a close second, but maybe i prefer true ny style pizza to napoletana's. It is evident they use Grande cheese, and their sauce is top notch as well, but the highlight must be their crust. I have noticed that when the weather changes dramatically, the dough suffers, but their worst is still the best in the city, and beyond. Since they burned down last year, they have reopened in the same place. I am not sure when that was, but the new space is much more comfortable (read Bigger), the menu has grown, they now serve full strength beer, and WINE!, and the food never missed a beat. Go and check them out again.
Pros: The pizza
Cons: hey, at 40 bucks for dinner for four people, are you kidding

We love this pizza. I am especially fond of it because I am allergic to dairy. Estes has vegan cheese. In the past, I have ignored my allergy and just gone for it. But now I can have my Pizza and eat it too. The regular pizza is great as well. Part of what is rough about pizza back east is that the grease from the cheese is dripping off of the pizza. You have to take a napkin to it just to get all of the grease off to eat it. With the pizza at estes, you do't have to blot anything. It is just good pizza. The only thing I would change is, I wish they had wheat crust for those extra healthy moments. Still, worth every bite.
Pros: Vegan Cheese
Cons: No wheat crust

I really like this place and it's pizza. Staff have never told me how to eat pizza nor have I been denied anything I have asked for. All the interactions I have had with owners and staff have been lovely. I like the extended hours, new space, and new delivery service. I wish they had fresh basil leaves as a topping choice.
Pros: parking, vibe, mural
Cons: hot in the summer

terrble pizza and service. Only serves slices during lunch. Place was tiny and dirty the counter person was dirty. I tried on slice of my pizza and threw the rest out. The mozzarella was low fat and poor quality. Not sure what they do to make sure what they do t o make the pizza so bland. NYer's, including myself would be embarrassed by this stuff.
Pros: terrible pizza
Cons: they close at nite

If the pizza was as good as they say it is, I might abide by Estes rules that are as strict as the Kremlin's and as ridiculous as Utah liquor laws. I get the no pineapple thing, but not allowing a customer to eat their pizza in certain way is down right ludicrous. Three examples: --A friend ordered Ranch dressing with her Pizza. Though it is on the menu, she was denied as "that's not how you eat pizza in New York." So she ordered a salad instead with Ranch. The owner dumped a gallon of vinegarette on the salad instead and then refused to take it back, even though that is not what she ordered (it was a salad and ranch was on the menu. Please!) --The no fork thing is the most discriminatory aspect of this restaurant. While the forks are out in plain sight, you cannot eat your pizza with a fork or you will be asked to leave. A friend of mine has a mental disability and cannot touch food with his hands. He tried to explain that he needed a fork due to medical reasons, and the clerk still refused. Since he couldn't eat the pizza with his hands, he asked for his money back and was denied. --If the disabled don't convince you, how about a three year old. My son eats all his food cut up in little bites with a fork. Even he was denied a fork. It was downright sad to see him struggle with his little hands to lift a giant greasy slice to his mouth only for it to fall. I asked for a fork for him and was denied. "He has to learn sooner or later," I was told by the clerk. When I asked for my money back, I was told no. We left, my son hungry and crying all because they refused to let him use a fork with his meal. I'm pretty sure prisoners in Guatanamo get to eat with forks. The "Soup Na(t)zi" on Seinfeld was meant as a joke. Estes is proving to the be the same, the only difference is that the "Soup Na(t)zi" was fictional. If you want really good NY Pizza, go to Big Apple, where the chef's been doing it forever and cares about customer satisfaction.
Pros: the pizza is just ok
Cons: horrible service and discriminatory rules

Este pizza is the best pizza ever, however it's never consistent. Your pizza might be good. If it s*cks dont tell the staff because they wont give a sh*t. I ordered a beer one time and it took the arogant t*rd behind the counter 13.5 minutes to bring it to me. There were only two other people in the place too. What the hell was he doing? So come on Dave (owner) get some quality folks who can stick to your recipes and provide some service and maybe just maybe I'll feel like paying your high prices. Hope this helps, but I'm sure it will just get a snooty sneer from the lazy lumps you employ.
Pros: good pizza sometimes
Cons: horible service, I mean the worst ever. Ive been treated better by cops
