The History
The Cathedral of the Madeleine underwent extensive renovation in 1990, refurbishing the structure inside (Gothic Revival style) and out (Romanesque). Its two gargoyled towers rise above the Avenues neighborhood near South Temple.
The Schedule
Bells toll on the hour and before Mass, which is celebrated weekdays at 8am and 5:30pm, on Saturday at 6pm, and Sundays at 8:30am, 11am, and 6pm. Vespers are held Sunday afternoons at 4:30pm. Call for a guided tour, which last an hour.
